Did you know, you can combine your sightseeing in Russia with a vaccination against COVID-19. Now it’s possible to get a Sputnik-V vaccine even for foreigners who arrive to Russia as tourists. Go Russia has made arrangements with clinics in Moscow and St. Petersburg and we can assist you with your medical consultation while on a tour.
Update 01/03/2020: currently the Russian authorities are not allowing vaccination for tourists.
You can do vaccination while on any of our tours in Russia, however your period of stay must be at least 3 weeks, as two doses are required and the second must be taken 21 days after the first one.
You will be issued an official certificate in English. This might be very useful for international travel as many countries started accepting vaccination certificates to simplify entry from overseas. You will not need any PCR or similar tests, no more hassle with arranging tests and spending more money.

Vaccine GamCovidVac (Sputnik V)
Russian COVID-19 vaccine “Sputnik V” has passed all required testing phases. 92% efficacy of Sputnik V vaccine has already been confirmed by data analysis in the final stage of clinical trials. The effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing severe cases of coronavirus infection is 100%. On 2 February 2021 the medical journal The Lancet published the results of a phase three trial in Moscow that confirmed that the Sputnik V vaccine is safe and 91.6% effective in preventing COVID-19.
The Russian vaccine is currently being supplied to various countries all over the world and there are talks about its certification in the European Union.

The procedure of COVID-19 vaccination
Age restrictions – from 18 years old.
The vaccination has 2 stages:
- 1st injection: component 1
- 2nd injection: component 2 in 3 weeks (21 days)
It’s obligatory to have a doctor’s consultation before each stage of vaccination. After vaccination, patients need to be under specialist supervision in the clinic for 30 minutes.
No special preparation for the COVID-19 vaccination is required but there are some contraindications.
Go Russia will arrange a guide (interpreter) and a transport if required. We will also set up an appointment with a clinic for your medical consultation.
Costs
- The cost of vaccination is about £80 for each dose.
- Apart from the vaccine, you need to calculate the cost of your additional accommodation either in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Depending on your budget, we can recommend hotels in both cities.
- You must also book a sightseeing programme or a package tour to be compliant with visa regulations. You can extend any of our tours or just arrive earlier.

- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Acute infectious and non-infectious diseases, exacerbation of chronic diseases
- Vaccination with any other vaccine (including influenza) less than a month before the date of vaccination against COVID-19.
