The Moscow authorities are planning to open a chain of hostels in Moscow, Chairman of the City Committee for Tourism Grigory Antyufeev has announced recently.
Students will be able to stay in the capital of Russia for $15 per person per night in these hostels.
There are about 10 hostels in Moscow today. Best of them, Godzillas and Napoleon – were opened by foreigners. First, Godzillas hostel located in one of the oldest buildings in the central of Moscow started to accommodate visitors in October 2005. The price varies from $16 to $70 per night. Napoleon hostel offers accommodation at special prices during summer time for $19 – $30 per night.
Godzillas and Napoleon were the only hostels in Moscow, whose owners have obtained all necessary permits, renovated the place to the standards, and hired staff. Other hostels in Moscow usually are normal apartments, although the prices there don’t differ a lot from the price in Godzillas or Napoleon ($23-$33 per night).
