The largest in the history of the State Hermitage Museum exhibition of works by Pablo Picasso is open in St. Petersburg. The National Picasso Museum (Paris), which is temporarily closed for reconstruction, has provided more than 200 showpieces for the exhibition.
The visitors will see Picasso’s work of all periods from 1901 to 1972 including painting, sculpture, graphics, photos, and even books illustrated by the artist.
Specially for Russia, organisers put together additional exposition – “Picasso and the Russian ballet”, dedicated to collaboration of Picasso and Sergei Diaghilev, Igor Stravinsky and Leonid Myasin.
The exhibition will be open till 5th September 2010.
