Airline Vouchers

Many customers still have credit vouchers from Aeroflot, S7 or other Russian airlines. The vouchers are due to expire in 2023. Please see below for information how to request a refund from the airline.

As per the current rules, you can request a refund after the voucher expiry date, i.e. after 3 full years from the initial flight date. Officlal information – https://www.aeroflot.ru/xx-en/evoucher/regulation

However, due to financial sanctions the airlines cannot provide any refunds abroad. The vouchers are issued on a passenger name and cannot be used for other travellers. You can only get a refund to an account, card issued in Russia. The refund must be requested and processed in a local airline office in Russia. For customers not based in Russia an original power of attorney is required, the power of attorney must authorise a person who has an account in Russia to act on behaf of a passenger and terminate the contract.

Our representative in Russia is currently checking with the airline what exact documents will be required, the wording of the power of attorney, etc. Unfortunately this is not a simple process.

We will update this page once more information becomes available. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Alternative destinations

The refund process may turn out very complicated. If you are planning your next holiday, we recommend you review our alternative destinations: Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey), Silk Road (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), China and Mongolia. We will be able to offer you a special discount taking into account the amount you had paid for your flights.

Update: 27/06/2023.
